DriveWorks Solo 15: Annotation Positions [send feedback...]

Introduction

DriveWorks Solo provides the ability to anchor annotations to the left, top, right, and bottom of a view so that when the view changes position and size, the annotations are automatically repositioned neatly around it.

Annotation Positions

The annotation positions section is divided into four areas:

  1. The sheet preview which shows the currently selected sheet and view to make it easy to identify what you are working on.
  2. The sheets and views tree from which you select the view to work with.
  3. The alignment options which allow you to control the alignment of the selected annotation relative to the selected view.
  4. The summary tree which shows the captured annotations and their current positions.
DriveWorks captures the positions of annotations relative to the top, left, right, or bottom of a specified view so that it can accurately reposition the annotations when the view changes.

To Anchor an Annotation to One or More Sides of a View

  • Select the view to which the annotation should be anchored.
  • Select one or more annotations around the view.
  • Choose to which sides of the view the annotation should be anchored to by checking/unchecking the top/left/right/bottom check boxes - note that top and bottom can not be selected at the same time, and neither can left and right.
  • Click apply to apply the anchor settings.

To Modify the Settings for an Anchored Annotation

  • Select the annotation to modify from the summary tree at the bottom of the section.
  • Select the sides of the view the annotation should be anchored to by checking/unchecking the top/left/right/bottom check boxes.
  • Click "Apply" to apply the anchor settings.

To Clear the Settings for an Anchored Annotation

  • Select the annotation to modify from the summary tree at the bottom of the section.
  • Click "Remove" to clear the settings for the annotation.
The keyboard Delete key will also remove the selected items.
Annotations can be multi-selected by using the keyboard Ctrl or Shift keys while selecting annotations.

To Update Stored Annotation Positions

When annotations are anchored to the view, DriveWorks stores the positions of the annotations relative to the view. If you move the annotation manually, then you will need to tell DriveWorks to update the stored annotation position.

To update a specific view only

  • Select the required view and click the Update Positions button at the bottom of the section.

To update all views

  • Click the Update All Positions button at the bottom of the section.
