Annotation Positions
DriveWorks Solo provides the ability to anchor annotations to
the left, top, right, and bottom of a view so that when the view
changes position and size, the annotations are automatically
repositioned neatly around it.
The annotation positions section is divided into four areas:
- The sheet preview which shows the currently selected sheet and
view to make it easy to identify what you are working on.
- The sheets and views tree from which you select the view to
work with.
- The alignment options which allow you to control the alignment
of the selected annotation relative to the selected view.
- The summary tree which shows the captured annotations and their
current positions.
DriveWorks
captures the positions of annotations relative to the top, left,
right, or bottom of a specified view so that it can accurately
reposition the annotations when the view changes.
Isometric Views
When positioning dimensions on Isometric Views DriveWorks will set the X,Y and Z positions to the values they were originally captured, relative to the current view bounding box.
Isometric views use an alternate bounding box which is relative to the normal of the plane on which the dimension is placed.
There may be some slight differences with the placement once an isometric view has been driven.

- Select the view to which the annotation should be
anchored.
- Select one or more annotations around the view.
- Choose to which sides of the view the annotation should be
anchored to by checking/unchecking the
top/left/right/bottom check boxes - note that top and
bottom can not be selected at the same time, and neither can left
and right.

To Modify the Settings for an Anchored Annotation

bottom of the section.

To Update Stored Annotation Positions
When annotations are anchored to the view, DriveWorks stores the
positions of the annotations relative to the view. If you move the
annotation manually, then you will need to tell DriveWorks to
update the stored annotation position.
To update a specific view only
- Select the required view and click the Update Positions button at the bottom of the section.
To update all views
- Click the Update All Positions button at the bottom of the section.
