This topic explains how to manually activate a DriveWorks Solo license.
Manual activation is only required when the machine DriveWorks Solo is installed on has no Internet access.
A machine that does have Internet access is still required.
When you first launch SOLIDWORKS after installing DriveWorks Solo you will see a helper link that prompts you to activate the product:
Once the Helper link is selected the Licensing Wizard will guide you through activating your license key.
Return License
A manually activated license cannot be returned using the Return License functionality of the License Manager unless connected to the internet.
Please contact your reseller for assistance in returning a manually activated license from a machine that is not connected to the internet.
If you are on a network managed by an IT Department, you may be behind a proxy, in which case you may need to find out your proxy details from whoever runs your network.
The manual licensing process is divided into the following few steps:
See How To: Find Drive Works Solo License Keys if you do not have a license key.
Click Stop to interrupt the process.
If DriveWorks Solo has been licensed on this machine previously, skip to Step 8.
To initialize the license, a request file is created.
This is then copied to a machine with Internet access.
Click Save Request... and browse to a location where it is to be saved.
This will save a .driveaccreq file and a .html file in this location.
The .html file details the further steps to take.
Copy these files to a location that can be accessed from a machine that does have Internet access.
Open a web browser and browse to https://activation.driveworks.co.uk
A link to this URL is also given in the .html file that was created in the previous step.
Opening this file in a browser, and clicking the link, will navigate to the activation page.
On the Manual Activation web page click Choose file
Browse to the location of the .driveactreq file and click Submit.
A response to the activation request will then be generated and should be downloaded and copied back to the machine which needs licensing.
This file is called Configuration Request.xml.
In the Licensing Wizard click the Open Response... button
Browse to the location of the Configuration Request XML file.
Your machine is now configured for you to now activate your licenses.
To activate the license you will need to save a request file and then copy this to a machine with Internet access. Do this by clicking Save Request... and browse to the location it is to be saved. This will save a .driveactreq file and a .html file in this location. The .html file contains further steps to take.
A response to the activation request will then be generated and it will need to be downloaded and copied back on to the machine which needs licensing.
This file is called ActivationRequest.xml.
