Introduction
When DriveWorks generates SOLIDWORKS information it is
automating what would need to be done manually in SOLIDWORKS. Often
the best place to start and diagnose model inaccuracies is to
manually perform the action DriveWorks is executing.
Manual Check
If you have got to the stage of seeing unexpected results in the
model, you will have a clone of the master model to perform a
manual check on. Unless you are confident any manual changes will
not affect the master model it is always advisable to use the
clone.
Check Dimensions manually
A quick manual check in the following areas will confirm if the
dimension can be controlled by DriveWorks.
- Check dimension is
drivable.
- Open the root model that has the incorrect dimension in
SOLIDWORKS
- In the SOLIDWORKS feature manager locate the sketch or feature
that contains the dimension and double click to display the
dimension on the model in view.
- Double click the displayed dimension to change.
- Change the dimension to the value it should be.
- If the dimension can be successfully changed proceed to the
next step in the

Project Issues topic.
- If the dimension cannot be changed the master model will
require to be modified to allow this.
- Check dimension has
been captured.
- Open the group that the model is controlled by in the
DriveWorks Add-in in SOLIDWORKS.
- From the Captured Models tab locate and double click, to open,
the root model that has the incorrect dimension.
- In the SOLIDWORKS feature manager locate the sketch or feature
that contains the dimension and double click to display the
dimension on the model in view.
- Click the displayed dimension on the model.
- The selected dimension should be indicated in the Dimensions
folder of the Dimensions and Features tab of the DriveWorks
add-in.
Check Features manually
A quick manual check in the following areas will confirm if the
feature can be controlled by DriveWorks.
- Check feature is
drivable.
- Open the root model that has the incorrect feature in
SOLIDWORKS
- In the SOLIDWORKS feature manager locate the feature that
contains the dimension and double click to display the dimension on
the model in view.
- Right click the feature and select Suppress or Unsuppress (This
will also indicate if the feature can be deleted without actually
deleting the feature)
- If the feature can be successfully changed proceed to the next
step in the

Project Issues topic.
- If the feature cannot be changed the master model will require
to be modified to allow this.
